Google has launched a new protection program for Pixel devices, Pixel Care+

Google launches a new device protection program, Pixel Care+. It will replace Preferred Care and Fi Device Protection in the U.S., and current subscribers with monthly payments will be transitioned to the new program in the coming months.

According to Google's blog, Pixel Care+ provides "a higher level of coverage and service for Google device owners".

The new program includes unlimited repair requests for accidental damage, expanded warranty claims, and claims for mechanical damage. It also offers free screen and battery repair, free claims for post-warranty failures, original Google parts and their replacement, priority support from Pixel specialists, self-service through the Google Store website, and optional additional coverage for loss and theft. Additionally, Pixel Care+ users receive free shipping for replacements, including next-day delivery.

The Google website provides a breakdown of prices depending on the type of device. For example, Pixel Care+ for the Pixel 10 costs $10 per month or $199 for two years.

The Pixel Care+ program is available in the U.S. for new devices, including the Pixel 8 and newer, Pixel Watch 2 and newer, Pixel Tablet, Fitbit Ace LTE, Fitbit Versa 4, Fitbit Sense 2, Fitbit Charge 6, and Fitbit Inspire 3.

The program can be added within 60 days of purchasing the device. Users can apply directly through the Google Store and choose the location and time for repairs. Applications can also be submitted directly within the My Pixel app.

Earlier, the company confirmed that the Battery Health Assistance feature cannot be disabled on smartphones from the recently announced Pixel 10 lineup. The option automatically adjusts the maximum battery charge level to extend its lifespan. Battery Health Assistance debuted on the Pixel 9a earlier this spring.
