Creality Launches Sermoon P1 - A 3D Scanner Combining Multiple Scanning Technologies
Creality has introduced the Sermoon P1 3D scanner, which integrates two scanning technologies: laser and structured light. This hybrid allows users to work with a wide range of objects without being limited by a single technology.
Sermoon P1 has four scanning modes:
blue laser in a single line configuration for deep holes and grooves;
blue laser in a configuration of seven parallel lines for detailed scanning;
blue laser in a configuration of 22 crossed lines for quick form capture;
IR-structured light including markerless mode for working with large objects and the human body.
The manufacturer claims that the Sermoon P1 can work with objects ranging from 5 × 5 × 5 mm to 4 × 4 × 4 m. Additionally, there is a mode for combining multiple scanning approaches into one model, which potentially simplifies work and allows handling larger objects. The scanning accuracy is 0.02 mm, and the error is about 0.06 mm per meter.
The Sermoon P1 can be used in three scenarios: standalone, connected to a PC via Wi-Fi or cable. It is powered by an 8-core Qualcomm processor and an Adreno 740 graphics accelerator. It has 24 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in memory.
On the front of the case, there is a 6-inch touchscreen. Two removable batteries of 3300 mAh with hot-swappable functionality provide autonomy. The batteries themselves are charged via a USB-C port. For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 7.
The Sermoon P1 scanner can be purchased on the official website for $3,300. The package includes the device itself, a storage case, a set of markers, and accessories.
