How to use neural networks effectively

The neural networks’ consortium is pondering what exactly the user meant in their prompt – at least, that’s how I imagine it)

Cookbooks" and LLM development guides

We at MWS have launched a language model aggregator, where you can work with multiple LLMs through a single interface. In MWS GPT, the following models are available: MTS's own models, external models like DeepSeek, or the customer's own models. These models can easily be connected to any corporate system or chatbot via API.

Copilot Overview in Xcode on SwiftUI

So, I finally got around to Copilot. I was really curious how exactly it could help me with writing code. So, tekkixocatans, if you’re interested, I invite you to read further.

Artificial intelligence and motivation: how algorithms teach us to set goals

The creation of machine learning algorithms pursues many goals. One of them is to understand how our brain works, an amazing supercomputer that learns on the fly, predicts future scenarios, and manages countless processes simultaneously.

AI hints in code: cognitive crutches or a productivity jetpack?

AI assistants in programming have burst into developers' daily lives at incredible speed. But what lies behind the convenience? Acceleration or superficial thinking?

In pursuit of the unknown: how an ML model learned to detect malware

Hello everyone! This is Ksenia Naumova. At Positive Technologies, I research malicious network traffic and improve tools for analyzing it at the security expert center. Recently, we were tasked with creating an ML model to detect malware in the network. It had to recognize not only the malware we had previously detected, but also new threats that emerge in large numbers every day. As a first experiment, we decided to build a model to work with traffic transmitted via the HTTP protocol, as our products successfully decrypt TLS sessions, which often contain a lot of interesting data. In this article, I will describe in detail how we trained the model and share information about the mistakes we made.

How we revived DPED: An AI project to enhance mobile photos to DSLR-quality images

Hello, tekkix! The team of the regional scientific and educational center "Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analysis" at NSTU named after R. E. Alekseev is here.

40,000 tags and not a single password: how we saved the factory from shutdown

Imagine having to replace an airplane engine mid-flight. That’s roughly the situation we found ourselves in when we took on the localization of production systems at a Russian factory. A black box instead of a control system, password-protected access, lack of documentation, and the inability to stop production — the full gentleman’s set of pitfalls after 2022.

Emerald AI Personal Prediction Neural Network

In 2023, an international group of students and postgraduates at the Technical University named after George Asachi in Iași began researching the potential of personal predictive systems based on neural networks. Initially, the group's goal was to prove that reliable predictions of environmental behavior are impossible. However, two out of five models used in the initial experiment produced unexpected results of 67.1% and 74.5%, respectively. The models were able to predict exam scores, personal impressions of trips, visits to the cinema, interview results, personal relationships, and even responses to grant requests. Predictions were made in a closed video form for the participant, and the result was considered after some time to prevent feedback.

Suno AI for Musicians: How to Write Melodic Lyrics and Recognize Notes of Generated Songs

The musical world has entered a new era, and no, this is not the title of a science fiction novel. Neural network music generators like Suno AI are already creating tracks today that challenge traditional ways of writing music.

Detection is easy. Installing OPNSense and configuring NetFlow

Continuing the series of articles. - Detection is easy, dedicated to Detection engineering, which I write about in the Telegram channel of the same name. Today we will look at installing OPNSense on Proxmox and configuring NetFlow sending to the ElastiFlow collector, which we set up in the previous article.

Special architecture for data centers that handle AI operations: how Rubin surpasses Blackwell

Recently, NVIDIA announced that the release of the GB200 NVL72 supercomputer on the Blackwell architecture is delayed, and the GB300 superserver will be released in mid-2025. It turns out that these devices will be released almost simultaneously with the Rubin architecture, although the latter is positioned as next-gen. In the article, we will consider these technologies and try to understand why the company is in such a hurry to release the new platform.

My first Standoff, or How I looked over the shoulder of a cyber attack investigator

Hello everyone! My name is Sasha Korobko, I have been working at Positive Technologies for more than a year and I am already actively involved in the processes of various products and services. In this article, I will tell you about one of my days at the Positive Hack Days cyber festival last year. More precisely, about a very important part of it — the Standoff 13 cyber battle. The fact is that in 14 years of working in IT, I have never made it to the famous PHDays. Of course, I heard, absorbed the enthusiastic stories of colleagues who participated. It was fun to watch this: you haven't been there yet, but you want to get there. And I'm not so much about the festival itself, but about meetings, networking, provocative jokes, new features: how someone was hacked, what trends, who learned how to use new tools... And in May 2024, I was lucky to get to Positive Hack Days for the first time, to be in the thick of the cyber battle, namely: on the side of one of the defense teams. But first things first.

The tale of the search for hidden 40Gbps

tl;dr - new computers sometimes have a rather fast network hidden, most likely not set up in your home.

Detection is easy. Installing Elastiflow for network threat detection

We will start a series of articles called Detection is easy, dedicated to Detection engineering, which I write about in the Telegram channel of the same name.

MMAudio: Sound Generation for Video Using AI

Hello everyone! Researchers from the University of Illinois and Sony AI have presented an interesting project MMAudio - a neural network for creating sound accompaniment for video. My name is Ilya, I am the founder of the online neural network for creating images ArtGeneration.me, a tech blogger, and a neuro-evangelist, and today I want to talk more about this technology and share our portable version. The main feature of the system is that it can generate sounds not only based on text descriptions but also based on images or videos.
